Default Unexpected audio upgrade - Virgin Media to BT Full Fibre

Don’t care about download speed, as someone who enjoys a lot of streaming content it needs to be “at least good Enuff”
Long term (20odd years?) Virgin media customer before they were VM always enjoyed their consistency and good Service.

Apple Music and music via YouTube enjoyer for many years, turns out,
    VM dropped the ball.

Much recent buffering and disappointment later,
decided to jump ship to BT Full Fibre.

    installed yesterday.
Full Fibre optic install unlike VM,

Streamed stuff is way better, digital music sounding better.

    Nice upgrade, I’ll take it.

    EDIT
Oh, and I’m finding music sounding better with the AppleTV hooked up over 5Ghz Wi-Fi than wired with the BT router.
First time I’ve ever found that.

“Nothing discloses real character like the use of power. It is easy for the weak to be gentle. Most people can bear adversity. But if you wish to know what a man really is, give him power. This is the supreme test. It is the glory of Lincoln that, having almost absolute power, he never abused it, except on the side of mercy".

“You see these dictators on their pedestals, surrounded by the bayonets of their soldiers and the truncheons of their police ... yet in their hearts there is unspoken fear. They are afraid of words and thoughts: words spoken abroad, thoughts stirring at home -- all the more powerful because forbidden -- terrify them. A little mouse of thought appears in the room, and even the mightiest potentates are thrown into panic.”

“There's a war out there, old friend. A world war. And it's not about who's got the most bullets. It's about who controls the information. What we see and hear, how we work, what we think... it's all about the information!”

VM here too. I've just upgraded all my TV boxes and now included is Sky Cinema and Sky Sport for 18 months. Also faster broadband included. Been with them for well over 20 years and they do have their moments. Mostly happy with them

Improvement from BT fibre optic vs Virgin copper cable I guess?

    Both tick the boxes,
But 'less noise on the line' wise BT Full Fibre is cutting edge.

    Paying less per Month too

My BT Full Fibre was supposed to be installed weeks ago, but the namby pamby workers are keen on adhering to effin safety and want traffic lights and such being put into place.
It's supposed to be next Thursday now.

They're required to stick to the safety rules because it's the law. They could lose their jobs, and if anything did happen, they or their families would not get any compensation. What would you do in their shoes?

On some nights I still believe that a car with the gas needle on empty can run about fifty more miles if you have the right music very loud on the radio”

I started in 1996 when it was NYNEX, then it became Cable & Wireless, then Virgin.

C&W were the best as you used to get a proper monthly TV guide through the post from them.

Been on fibre optic for years as for some bizarre reason here was one of the first places to get it.

Just signed up for another 18 months in exchange for paying a bit less. Can't be arsed to swap to anyone else and the TV on Sky is the same crap anyway.

No telly licence here Martin (or means to watch broadcast telly) so that aspect never factored in for me.

i jumped in when they were Cable & Wireless, wondered who they were before that.
    Cheers!

Think they were Telewest at one point too if memory serves?

There might have been someone else in between those others, course we are going back more than twenty years.

I don't know why I keep the cable telly now, I've got all the channels and it's wall to wall crap. Most of the channels I do watch are on Freeview anyway and I never watch anything that's on the BBC. But old habits die hard.
