    Default Your thoughts please

Yesterday I posted an ad on a Hifi selling site for my Panasonic all in one device, using Panasonic's own details of specifications , but a couple of people saw fit to make comments that the output could not possibly be what I said it was.
I countered that I had only quoted what Panasonic said it was, and furthermore posted a screenshot directly from Panasonic's website.
Further thread crapping (in my opinion) took place, and I asked if someone from admin might take a look and comment.
That was of little use, and I ended up deleting the ad.

So, despite using the company's own information, I was made to feel that I was trying to mislead people.

    What would you have done?

PS, the admin also saw fit to query that my ad said the kit was in Torquay, but my profile said I was in Nottingham!
I had committed the crime of forgetting to change where I lived!

I'd probably tell them to piss off but out of interest what is the Panasonic?

they quote '120 watts (RMS) total output' - which may mean 60 watts per channel max output, it is a bit vague.

Seems like it uses a class D amp so no reason why it could not get that sort of output for the low power consumption and small size.

Anyway if you say 'Here are the manufacturer's specs' and just quote them then you've done nothing wrong. It's up to the buyer to do his research. Anyone disagreeing with Panasonic's published spec needs to take it up with them, not you.

“Nothing discloses real character like the use of power. It is easy for the weak to be gentle. Most people can bear adversity. But if you wish to know what a man really is, give him power. This is the supreme test. It is the glory of Lincoln that, having almost absolute power, he never abused it, except on the side of mercy".

“You see these dictators on their pedestals, surrounded by the bayonets of their soldiers and the truncheons of their police ... yet in their hearts there is unspoken fear. They are afraid of words and thoughts: words spoken abroad, thoughts stirring at home -- all the more powerful because forbidden -- terrify them. A little mouse of thought appears in the room, and even the mightiest potentates are thrown into panic.”

"You don't have free will. You have the appearance of free will.”

“There's a war out there, old friend. A world war. And it's not about who's got the most bullets. It's about who controls the information. What we see and hear, how we work, what we think... it's all about the information!”

    Thanks guys!
The last post I did suggested to one of the thread crappers that he should give Panasonic a call first thing Monday and tell them that they are wrong!
Incidentally it was 'UK Hifi for sale etc'
