I find myself enjoying fiddling around with bits of hifi on a fairly basic level.
I have an Audio Innovations Alto Mk1 that I pulled out of many years of storage, it needed some love so I replaced the power capacitors, and power relay and gave it a good clean.
I'm using this to power a pair of JPW Ruby 3s which have had a bit of a rough ride due to a run-in with a poorly Rotel power amp. I now have them back up and running although at the expense of a donor pair of JPW Ruby 1s. Whilst they were disassembled I stipped and oiled the cabinets and replaced all the capacitors with Jantzen Z Standard and I have them Tri-wired. Source is Google Chromecast music.
To my ears, it all sounds fantastic!
