It is impossible for anything digital to sound analogue, because it isn't analogue!

Tragic! The CBX 1000 with its 2 foot wide motor was something else, bound to become a classic. I did get to ride my mates in the early 80s, loved it. Candy apple red. I'd have one in a shot, but have you seen what they go for these days?

The later pro-link ones just weren't the same.

Oh yes, the weather - frosty start, but turned out nice in the sun. Starting to feel some heat coming off it.

Been a perfect day, weather-wise. Cold, but with a clear blue cloudless sky and bright sunshine. Made everything look lovely.

At the time it was a statement product. Nice enough, but I'd sooner have an SV-1000 myself. Less complex, faster and better handling for much less outlay. Great sound too, I love 90 degree V twins.

Yep, SV1000s are decent bikes, pretty torquey and make a great sound with the right pipes. One of my riding buddies had one, probably still does, haven't seen him for a few years.

    But they do have issues...

Suzuki thought they were onto a sure-fire winner with it, after the huge success of the SV650, but they were wrong. Didn't appeal to SV650 owners, who found the idea of TL1000S "widow maker" follow-on a bit intimidating. And existing TL owners weren't interested in moving to a lower powered "TL", with its budget frame and conventional forks. A good motor, but built on a budget. Finish was not great, and they got ropey looking quite quickly. Pampered examples might be ok, and can be had pretty cheap.

Anita's bike is built around the 650cc 90 degree v-twin SV, and it goes like the clappers. Plenty fast enough for her. It's in a Hyosung Aquila, which is a cruiser bike, perfect for short-arses like her.
