Veneering my Yamaha CT-7000
Well I do think that the black walnut looks nicer and more modern but my concern would be am I unnecessarily devaluing it ? The tuner cabinet was slightly damaged and the veneer wasn’t very nice .

Excellent work there Andrew, But if I had the choice, I would have stained the veneer to be a darker colour; maybe rosewood.

We all have different tastes. Some may prefer them to be a darker colour, some not. Hard to predict which colour would prove more desirable, so I would suggest Andy has them the colour he likes, and trusts that his tastes match that of potential buyer. I love it as it is nice veneer that still got a nice pattern to it and goes with more than a dark one would.
I'd leave the other as original if it's clean.
