I used it regularly, I first got introduced to it by , I think his name was Kevin Scott, living voice fame. It replaced audio note cables at a fraction of the cost. I managed to buy some lengths of an auction site about 8 or 9 years ago and made up various pairs. Probably about 30 m worth for buttons. Gave my last pair to a friend about 3 years ago. Still wish I had some though.
    Great cable

Unwieldy is not a term I would have used. It’s not a particularly large cable and it’s reasonably flexible but it may be compared to what you were previously using?

Yes perhaps you’re right, this was the final 7 metres of a reel so that may be the reason.

If you can use the "-P" version, then there is some for sale on eBay:

We haven't had a cable thread for ages .

I don't know that particular Hitachi cable, how do you find it sounds?

I've usually been using a modest Transparent Audio item for years.
It is impossible for anything digital to sound analogue, because it isn't analogue!

I haven’t tried it yet as it arrived last night. Bleedin stuff won’t sit flat on the floor so I now have it laid out and taped to our heated kitchen floor
