Beautifully built Nelson Pass design, and given the quality of construction a bit of a bargain. GLWS

    Hi
How old is this amp please and could you detail the improvements that make this a higher spec? Also how hot does it get with prolonged use?

    Thanks
    Chris

I was going by the actual size of the unit and cooling fins, and the dual toridal transformers.
I have written to Joe Henry or clarification of spec and age.

For me, it only ever got warm, never hot.

There was another joe henry aleph 3 sold on the se forums in 2019.

    Smaller case, one toridal trabsformer.

I emailed Joe Henry for further info about this amp.

It is indeed higher spec than normal.

    He stated -

'This was built in october 2017. It was not the standard build.
This was built with good separation of the channels in mind.
    Hence 2 toroidal transformers
    2 Power supplies.
    4 50Amp bridge rectifiers (2 each channel)
    Speaker protection
    Soft start module
    EMI filtering
    DC Blocker Module
You could say 2 monoblocks in one casing.
    One picture Attached.'

    This is a bargain.
