Default FS: Philips Black Tulip 22AH280 Preamp & 22AH380 Power Amp

I'm selling my Philips Black Tulip pre-power which I've owned for a few years. The Black Tulip range was Philips' final foray into quality HiFi separates. They are great vintage designs and very well-built. The power amp is Class A/B 100W RMS into 8 ohms. I would classify cosmetic condition to be very respectable given that these hail from the 1980s. There are a few marks / chips to the paint but nothing that screams out, the photos show the condition realistically. These amps would be fine to display and use in your most posh room!

I'd prefer to sell the pre-power together, they are such a great pairing it would be a shame to split them up.

The power amp is quite heavy so ideally, the buyer would collect them from South Manchester/ Cheshire or perhaps we could arrange to meet somewhere convenient.

I'm looking for £650 for the pair.

The Black Tulips are lovely amps, put a few modern ones to shame, look great Clive.
Listening is the act of aural discrimination and dissemination of sound, and accepting you get it wrong sometimes.

“Nothing discloses real character like the use of power. It is easy for the weak to be gentle. Most people can bear adversity. But if you wish to know what a man really is, give him power. This is the supreme test. It is the glory of Lincoln that, having almost absolute power, he never abused it, except on the side of mercy".

“You see these dictators on their pedestals, surrounded by the bayonets of their soldiers and the truncheons of their police ... yet in their hearts there is unspoken fear. They are afraid of words and thoughts: words spoken abroad, thoughts stirring at home -- all the more powerful because forbidden -- terrify them. A little mouse of thought appears in the room, and even the mightiest potentates are thrown into panic.”

“There's a war out there, old friend. A world war. And it's not about who's got the most bullets. It's about who controls the information. What we see and hear, how we work, what we think... it's all about the information!”

I’ve had a change of heart re the Black Tulip 280 preamp, I’m keeping it for a few months more. The equally gorgeous 380 power amp with the sexy VU meters is up for sale on its own. I’m asking £300 for the power amp. When there is serious we can discuss shipping vs meeting to deliver it.
