Default Do you recognise these speakers?

The seller doesn't know, there is no label on them. There is a Celestion driver and another English made driver by R&A? The cabinet seem to a very good build. Even if the drivers were not very good there could be potential to put something nice in them.

Back then you bought cabinets and drivers separately so they are probably made by a cabinet company or DIY. Looks like one Celesion driver has been replaced. I reckon a pair of Wharfedale DDs or Goodman's Axioms would be good in them.

It looks like there is some sort of variable loading by opening the doors at the bottom a different amount to suit the room. They might have metal sliders in them to hold to the desired angle.

Looks like a DIY cabinet on closer inspection. The 2/2 measurement and seem like a silcone seal in the joints.

It would be interesting to see more views of the interior. The baffles appear to be at an angle.
It is impossible for anything digital to sound analogue, because it isn't analogue!

This is the supreme test. It is the glory of Lincoln that, having almost absolute power, he never abused it, except on the side of mercy".

They are afraid of words and thoughts: words spoken abroad, thoughts stirring at home -- all the more powerful because forbidden -- terrify them. A little mouse of thought appears in the room, and even the mightiest potentates are thrown into panic.”

I assumed they were single driver speakers with one of the pair having been replaced. I put the angle down to a variable horn loading into the doors at the bottom.

This assumed the third photo was taken from above but looking again you'd have to take the tops off and they look pretty solidly stuck on.

The silicone is a later attempt to seal the cabinets maybe the old glue was drying out.

But this could all be wrong, hard to tell without getting hold of them or seeing more angles.
