    Hi Grant
    Thank you so much.
    I really appreciate it.
Not that I’m likely to have any hifi kit for sale over £250 in the future but if you have time to give me a couple of pointers as to what I should be doing, then that would be great.
    Thank you

Oh my god! There's nothing wrong with the bidet is there?

“Nothing discloses real character like the use of power. It is easy for the weak to be gentle. Most people can bear adversity. But if you wish to know what a man really is, give him power. This is the supreme test. It is the glory of Lincoln that, having almost absolute power, he never abused it, except on the side of mercy".

“You see these dictators on their pedestals, surrounded by the bayonets of their soldiers and the truncheons of their police ... yet in their hearts there is unspoken fear. They are afraid of words and thoughts: words spoken abroad, thoughts stirring at home -- all the more powerful because forbidden -- terrify them. A little mouse of thought appears in the room, and even the mightiest potentates are thrown into panic.”

"You don't have free will. You have the appearance of free will.”

“There's a war out there, old friend. A world war. And it's not about who's got the most bullets. It's about who controls the information. What we see and hear, how we work, what we think... it's all about the information!”

Weekend bump and price dropped to £250.
I’ll also include the spare tweeters (immaculate and measuring OK) and spare crossovers in that price.
    Thanks

That's a lot of very nice speaker for the money, especially with the spare parts. Somebody should grab these. Good luck with the sale.
It is impossible for anything digital to sound analogue, because it isn't analogue!

Made in the UK by Castle in Yorkshire - well known for the quality of their cabinet making. These are as much pieces of furniture as they are speakers. I would describe these as small floor-standers.

There is no ‘sun fading’ to the wood which you so often see when speaker grilles are left in place.

In my opinion, these speakers produce a (slightly) warmish sound. I would call them relaxed and certainly not "bright" sounding. I've used them with vinyl and various iterations of digital. I can listen to them for hours without feeling any fatigue on the ears.

They are currently being used in a second system.

    Technical;
    47Hz - 20kHz
    8 ohm
    2 way speaker
    25mm composite soft dome tweeter.
    150mm bass/mid range unit - carbon fibre.
    Sensitivity - 1w/1m @ 87dB
    Dimension; 770mm tall, 200mm wide, 230mm deep

I currently have them connected to a 35 watt digital amp and they perform beautifully.

In my main system, they’ve also been happily running with a 50 watt Rega Brio amp.

Some very light 'crazing' to both tweeters which I've been told could be re-doped to return to A1 visual condition. Both tweeters measuring 6.5/6.6 ohm but I haven't measure the woofers.

I do have the boxes but haven't taken photos.

These are collection only (Gloucestershire) although I would be prepared to meet up along the M4 corridor, between Chippenham and Newbury (subject to prior arrangements being made).

    Asking £275.

    Thanks for looking.

    Thanks Geoff.
I appreciate the vote of confidence.
I’m not going to drop the price again and if I can’t achieve £250, then I’ve decided to keep the Severns and instead, offer up my Castle Avons. These will be a far bit cheaper and although the drivers are vgc, the cabinets are only average.

I’ll give these one final bump and if still no interest, then I’ll probably pull the ad and try again next year.
    Thanks

Listening is the act of aural discrimination and dissemination of sound, and accepting you get it wrong sometimes.

Analog Inputs: Pro-Ject Signature 10 TT & arm, Benz Micro LP-S, Michel Cusis MC, Goldring 2500 and Ortofon Rondo Blue cartridges, Hitachi FT5500 mk2 Tuner

Digital:- Marantz SA-KI Pearl CD player, RaspberryPi/HifiBerry Digi+ Pro, Buffalo NAS Drive

Amplification:- AudioValve Sunilda phono stage, Krell KSP-7B pre-amp, Krell KSA-80 power amp

Output: Wilson Benesch Vector speakers, KLH Ultimate One Headphones

Cables: Tellurium Q Ultra Black II RCA & Chord Epic 2 RCA, various speaker leads, & links

I think I am nearing audio nirvana, but don’t tell anyone.
