Default How to scare “sangliers” (wild boar) away from your garden?

Winter is coming, it is getting cold, so the local wild boar have decided that my garden is a good place to look for food.
These are not animals I want to come face to face with, as they can weigh up to 150kg.

Does anybody have experience of stopping these beasts getting in fields/gardens?
I am thinking that an electric fence may be needed?

electric fence should work. my brother had one at his place to keep the animals in their fields etc. boar also dont like loud noise so maybe setting up a triggered alarm etc might work..

edit.. wolves sound would maybe scare them away... would work for me

“Nothing discloses real character like the use of power. It is easy for the weak to be gentle. Most people can bear adversity. But if you wish to know what a man really is, give him power. This is the supreme test. It is the glory of Lincoln that, having almost absolute power, he never abused it, except on the side of mercy".

“You see these dictators on their pedestals, surrounded by the bayonets of their soldiers and the truncheons of their police ... yet in their hearts there is unspoken fear. They are afraid of words and thoughts: words spoken abroad, thoughts stirring at home -- all the more powerful because forbidden -- terrify them. A little mouse of thought appears in the room, and even the mightiest potentates are thrown into panic.”

"You don't have free will. You have the appearance of free will.”

“There's a war out there, old friend. A world war. And it's not about who's got the most bullets. It's about who controls the information. What we see and hear, how we work, what we think... it's all about the information!”

Don't know about that, but I can appreciate the wild boar being wary about getting too close. Because if it didn't work out she'd probably write an album about it. And wild boar already have a bad rep.

I have a 12 bore “available” as well as something more accurate.
I don’t think the neighbours will be too happy with me discharging firearms in the middle of the night though.
