You mean Perspex is Acrylic, Acrylic being the material, Perspex is ICI's trade name, same as Plexiglass is Dupont's.

PMMA was first sythesised by chemists at ICI in the 1930's and sold under the name 'Perspex', around the same time as Rohme and Hasse in Germany, marketed the same as 'Plexiglas'.
