    I'm Alex.

    Default introduction

    Hi fellow audiophiles.

I am Alex & love to discuss experiences with introducing new components or room treatments to your listening chain/environment.
Today's topic is practical seating position vs the "sweet spot" in a busy living room used also for listening.
" I am forced" by the room practicalities to seat way off axis, just inside the RHS field, so whatever I listen I get a RHS biased earful.
    What about you?

Hi Alex, welcome to the forum.

I often listen off axis even though I don't have to. Never been obsessed with stereo imaging and all that stuff though.
    Current Lash Up:

    TEAC VRDS 701T > Sony TAE1000ESD > Krell KSA50S > JM Labs Focal Electra 926.

Hi Alex, my listening position is also determined by domestic practicalities. To the point where I'm normally listening from the left side of the left speaker! So way off-axis. But like Martin I've never been all that bothered about imaging. Whenever seeing live bands or "dancing" in rave clubs I never concerned myself with that stuff, and so don't at home. Decent bass, tonal evenness and detail are more of a priority for me (though I've some way to go yet).
I just dropped in, to see what condition my condition was in

T/T: Inspire Monarch, X200 tonearm, Ortofon Quintet Blue. Phono: Project Tube Box CD: Marantz CD6006 (UK Edition); Amp: Musical Fidelity A5 Integrated.
Speakers: Zu Omen Def, REL T9i subwoofer. Cables: Atlas Equator interconnects, Atlas Hyper 3.0 speaker cables

    T'other system:
Echo Dot, Amptastic Mini One,Arcam A75 integrated, Celestion 5's, BK XLS-200 DF

    A/V:
LG 55" OLED, Panasonic Blu Ray, Sony a/v amp, MA Radius speakers, REL Storm sub

Forget the past, it's gone. And don't worry about the future, it doesn't exist. There is only NOW.

It is impossible for anything digital to sound analogue, because it isn't analogue!

    Welcome to AoS Alex.

My speakers, when optimally set up are almost holographic in their soundstaging. Unfortunately, owing to domestic considerations, my listening position is further away from the speakers than is ideal, which only benefits a single listener.

As Geoff has asked - what are your tastes in music?
