    Default Spendors in the house

I currently have these lovely Spendor BC1 speakers in the house. I picked them up from Andy (Andyrlb) last weekend. Thank you mate. I bought them along with the Arcam A85, T51 and CD72 he also had for sale, for my older brother who was after a set up for his place in France.

I'm very impressed with them. I'm trying them out on the Partington stands which usually have my Kef Reference 103s on. Andy had supplied a set of stands with them but to my ears they sound so much better raised up a little although aesthetically I'm too sure. Just been playing some Ornette Coleman, Talk Talk and Edo Lobo. All sounding stunning. Its going to be a wrench handing them over when the time comes. May have to source a pair for myself although it may be difficult to find a pair in such good condition. I've tried my level best to upload a photo but alas no joy.

Classic speaker which I am sure can still produce some great music even after all these years. I found vocals and tonal quality from the BC1 to be superb.

They look at home Loz , they’re an easy speaker to really become attached to imo and I agree about the stands .

“Nothing discloses real character like the use of power. It is easy for the weak to be gentle. Most people can bear adversity. But if you wish to know what a man really is, give him power. This is the supreme test. It is the glory of Lincoln that, having almost absolute power, he never abused it, except on the side of mercy".

“You see these dictators on their pedestals, surrounded by the bayonets of their soldiers and the truncheons of their police ... yet in their hearts there is unspoken fear. They are afraid of words and thoughts: words spoken abroad, thoughts stirring at home -- all the more powerful because forbidden -- terrify them. A little mouse of thought appears in the room, and even the mightiest potentates are thrown into panic.”

"You don't have free will. You have the appearance of free will.”

“There's a war out there, old friend. A world war. And it's not about who's got the most bullets. It's about who controls the information. What we see and hear, how we work, what we think... it's all about the information!”

I'm hopefully getting hold of some BBC size speakers in December, looking forward to trying them. I always felt it was the optimum size for a standmount speaker to sound natural and unforced.
