Definite vote for the Neurochrome 686 or the 286 mono blocks Jo.
I love Hendrix for so many reasons. He was so much more than just a blues guitarist - he played damn well any kind of guitar he wanted. In fact I'm not sure if he even played the guitar - he played music. - Stevie Ray Vaughan

    Hi all.

So many excellent suggestions, thank you it's much appreciated.

Although the Neurochrome amps look totally crazy value I've decided to go with an integrated option. I could do with reducing so many boxes too.

Therefore I'm considering selling my Uber Croft Epoch preamp.

They are afraid of words and thoughts: words spoken abroad, thoughts stirring at home -- all the more powerful because forbidden -- terrify them. A little mouse of thought appears in the room, and even the mightiest potentates are thrown into panic.”

    Hi Grant.

Yeah, that does look lovely. But... I'm going Luxman. First time for everything n all that.

So I'm going to push the boat out on a great deal for an L500AXII.

I've been reading the independent reviews for it and it seems to be loved by the majority. I might even do a review myself.

You can't go back after using a Luxman.

There's always the Quad 520f if you like the sound of the 306, and it has balanced inputs!

Yes, I have one, but is a power amplifier: it needs an preamp with balanced outputs. Josie's Luxman amp is an integrated amplifier.

(And cometically, the Luxman amp looks far more attractive, despite having distracting and irrelevant VU meters.)

LOL... the VU meters are irrelevant unless you're recording. Luxman seem to enjoy putting meters on things for sure. LOL... PPMs would be more useful for recording IMO.

Might be irrelevant but bloody good looking and fun. Who ever lusts after a plain black box with two knobs ?
