Wasn't so bad yesterday since there was always a breeze. Just felt like a hot summer's day as opposed to that furnace heat we had those two days last month.

Tomorrow is high of 22C and thunderstorms predicted for the evening. Hopefully that won't start until I get home from work.

Beware the road pond! Flash floods predicted.

26C here already, sunshine a bit hazy. Quite cloudy earlier, which made walking round the unusually busy car boot more bearable.

Just about to put on one of my purchases, Black Sabbath "Paranoid". Not heard that in years.

Just checked the forecast and they've already cancelled the thunderstorms

Now it's just a 70 percent chance of heavy rain. They've put it all back by a couple of hours too so if it does happen at least I won't get soaked walking home.

Not had a single thunderstorm here all summer. And we've only had one lot of 'monsoon' rain. That's when it is raining so hard that you actually have to go and look at it, and while you are looking at it, it actually increases in intensity. That used to happen quite often in the summer evenings here, up until the last couple of years.

Same thunderstorm delay in Devon. No I'm not there, but Google thinks I am. Thinks I've been living there for months. I get a daily news update from Devononline.

I used to get special offer updates from the Dominos Pizza in Hemel Hempstead. Never been anywhere near it in my life. Never even set foot in Hertfordshire.

Went on for years, that did.

Was in London yesterday: 36C and drank more water than I have done so for years!
Even with the windows open and a fan blasting away, we had difficulty sleeping.

Today, back in Chelmsford, it's a little cooler, but not by much.

I've just been drinking tea all day. Although I do that regardless of the weather.

Anytime I see Chelmsford mentioned I think of 'Chelmsford 123.' They should repeat that.

    It hasn't changed that greatly!

Yes, I drink mint tea when it's hot, but difficult to do when you're out and about. Talking of which I think I'll make a cuppa now.

“Nothing discloses real character like the use of power. It is easy for the weak to be gentle. Most people can bear adversity. But if you wish to know what a man really is, give him power. This is the supreme test. It is the glory of Lincoln that, having almost absolute power, he never abused it, except on the side of mercy".

“You see these dictators on their pedestals, surrounded by the bayonets of their soldiers and the truncheons of their police ... yet in their hearts there is unspoken fear. They are afraid of words and thoughts: words spoken abroad, thoughts stirring at home -- all the more powerful because forbidden -- terrify them. A little mouse of thought appears in the room, and even the mightiest potentates are thrown into panic.”

"You don't have free will. You have the appearance of free will.”

“There's a war out there, old friend. A world war. And it's not about who's got the most bullets. It's about who controls the information. What we see and hear, how we work, what we think... it's all about the information!”
