I've just bought a very nice example of this 35 Yr old Player, at a ridiculously low price. Purchased out of curiosity, and hopefully an investment. A few reviews out there seem to hold them in high regard. I would like to hear from anyone with experience of the 273se. I intend to use it occasionally in my bedroom system, and certainly don't want to modify it. UPDATE... I am pleasantly surprised at how "analogue" this player is. Very neutral, with none of the harshness/thinness that Japanese machines suffered with at the time. Soundstage is fairly 2 dimensional, but doesn't really detract from the player's musical sound. I will be hanging on to it for sure. It's immaculate, and only cost me £45. That surely has to be a good investment.
