2100 and dusk is only just setting in.

Does not seem five minutes ago I was closing the curtains and putting the light on at 1600.

I know, where's the year gone/ Another five weeks or so and the days will be shortening again.

Early car boot trip tomorrow if it can stay dry. Another Sunday morning of trawling through Robbie Williams and Corrs CDs. And not forgetting Lionel Ritchie's "Can't Slow Down" on knackered vinyl.

The rule at a boot sale is that you can't sell vinyl unless it's knackered or it's something no-one would ever want.

Round 12-13C now. Sunny with clear shadows. Some light cloud, but patches of blue.

    Looks good for the moment.

    Maybe.

I only went once to a boot sale. We weren't sellling LPs - just general things.
We had some fairly good stuff - which I think was picked up quickly by dealers who were on the lookout for knockdown bargains to sell on.
We also had a lot of 1970-1980s "crap". Things like cassette tape boxes etc.

What was interesting was that many of the tables around us had almost exactly the same stuff!

Does anyone find boot sales useful?

“Nothing discloses real character like the use of power. It is easy for the weak to be gentle. Most people can bear adversity. But if you wish to know what a man really is, give him power. This is the supreme test. It is the glory of Lincoln that, having almost absolute power, he never abused it, except on the side of mercy".

“You see these dictators on their pedestals, surrounded by the bayonets of their soldiers and the truncheons of their police ... yet in their hearts there is unspoken fear. They are afraid of words and thoughts: words spoken abroad, thoughts stirring at home -- all the more powerful because forbidden -- terrify them. A little mouse of thought appears in the room, and even the mightiest potentates are thrown into panic.”

"You don't have free will. You have the appearance of free will.”

“There's a war out there, old friend. A world war. And it's not about who's got the most bullets. It's about who controls the information. What we see and hear, how we work, what we think... it's all about the information!”
