    Hi,

My name is Sal and I've just joined the site.

I enjoy most genres of music but I lean more towards jazz, blues, folk, classical, afrobeat and dub + roots reggae.

I run a small dub and roots reggae sound system with a friend in Bristol, we built most of the boxes but haven't built hifi speakers yet. I've just started my DIY hifi journey, ordered the parts to make an ACA which I'm excited about.

System is still in flux, recently bought a pair of Lampizator p17 OB speakers from Lee that belonged to the late James Coltart, otherwise known as Sovereign, which I'm currently trying to find the right set up for. Interested in analogue and digital, don't think it's worth specifying the details of the system yet as I'm currently auditioning various pieces.

Look forward to learning from and interacting with people on here.

    Cheers,

    Sal

“Nothing discloses real character like the use of power. It is easy for the weak to be gentle. Most people can bear adversity. But if you wish to know what a man really is, give him power. This is the supreme test. It is the glory of Lincoln that, having almost absolute power, he never abused it, except on the side of mercy".

“You see these dictators on their pedestals, surrounded by the bayonets of their soldiers and the truncheons of their police ... yet in their hearts there is unspoken fear. They are afraid of words and thoughts: words spoken abroad, thoughts stirring at home -- all the more powerful because forbidden -- terrify them. A little mouse of thought appears in the room, and even the mightiest potentates are thrown into panic.”

"You don't have free will. You have the appearance of free will.”

“There's a war out there, old friend. A world war. And it's not about who's got the most bullets. It's about who controls the information. What we see and hear, how we work, what we think... it's all about the information!”

    Hello Sal. Welcome to AOS.

DIY projects are popular here, so do show us some photos as you go along. You can start your own system blog in The Gallery thread if you like.

I do remember Sovereign. He is missed.

Anyway just join in the chat, it's a friendly place.

    Enjoy the forum,
    Geoff.
It is impossible for anything digital to sound analogue, because it isn't analogue!
