Default FRUGALHORN XL with MARK AUDIO 11 MOAP drivers. £550

FRUGELHORN XL with Mark Audio MOAP 11 drivers. £550.

    Is it FrugEl...or FrugAl...?....anyway..
Following the revitalised ad from Myles, I thought I’d better put a proper ad up for these.
The speakers are unchanged; lightly used, unblemished. They come with a choice of spikes and can be heard in Bristol (near J18, M5) though I’m sure many of you know these by reputation.
This is certainly the pinnacle of the range; as Myles said, the driver alone is £720 a set, and the case has been professionally constructed.
I’m unning them from a Neurochrome 86 amp and the sound is lovely.

They’ll need to be collected. I was scratching an itch, with my interest I full-range speakers. As Myles put it, the sound is lovely, holographic, as he put it.
Add the fact that they are ‘living room friendly’ (not big black boxes…..) and you can rest easy with lovely music. ‘Lord Mortlake’ loves them-it was his enthusiasm that encouraged me, after my post Ocellia hiatus.
Others agree - see the comments on the original ad.
Dimensions are in the link below -

I’m very happy with them, but have my eyes on another…….

Oh my god! There's nothing wrong with the bidet is there?

“Nothing discloses real character like the use of power. It is easy for the weak to be gentle. Most people can bear adversity. But if you wish to know what a man really is, give him power. This is the supreme test. It is the glory of Lincoln that, having almost absolute power, he never abused it, except on the side of mercy".

“You see these dictators on their pedestals, surrounded by the bayonets of their soldiers and the truncheons of their police ... yet in their hearts there is unspoken fear. They are afraid of words and thoughts: words spoken abroad, thoughts stirring at home -- all the more powerful because forbidden -- terrify them. A little mouse of thought appears in the room, and even the mightiest potentates are thrown into panic.”

"You don't have free will. You have the appearance of free will.”

“There's a war out there, old friend. A world war. And it's not about who's got the most bullets. It's about who controls the information. What we see and hear, how we work, what we think... it's all about the information!”

We now have photos, but too small.
It is impossible for anything digital to sound analogue, because it isn't analogue!

Correction! I seem to have got the cost wrong! A pair of MOAP 11s is £330-now,

Though the total cost of the whole thing is just over £1000 from KJF; then paint it!

    (£1032.24 -https://kjfaudio.com/basket/ )

Abbey Road wired. ETI sockets. Mark audio best speaker unit, pro- built.
    (See the first 'thumb-nail pic.)
    Great imagery of sound.

Losing the X-over seems to add a completeness to the music that's hard to quantify,
but it's very beguiling. Just right for UK size rooms as well.
Playing via a KIngrex usb amp now and doing the usual thing of highlighting details I'd forgotten were in the music.
    A treat for someone,eventually.

They're even sounding fine in a small room at the moment, running from a Kingrex usb amp.

I assumed they would work very well in a smaller room being single driver, might like a bit of space behind for the horn though? 50cm should be fine?

Edit: actually looking at the design the extended rear base might already give that clearance so placement ok as shown in the photo.

If I wasn't so happy with my crossover upgraded crusader iis I'd be taking a listen to these for the drivers alone.

Not that the cabs look shabby by any means. Glws
