I have a PC connected to my HiFi. No issues running any streaming app.
I can also stream films to the TV next to the HiFi.

“Nothing discloses real character like the use of power. It is easy for the weak to be gentle. Most people can bear adversity. But if you wish to know what a man really is, give him power. This is the supreme test. It is the glory of Lincoln that, having almost absolute power, he never abused it, except on the side of mercy".

“You see these dictators on their pedestals, surrounded by the bayonets of their soldiers and the truncheons of their police ... yet in their hearts there is unspoken fear. They are afraid of words and thoughts: words spoken abroad, thoughts stirring at home -- all the more powerful because forbidden -- terrify them. A little mouse of thought appears in the room, and even the mightiest potentates are thrown into panic.”

"You don't have free will. You have the appearance of free will.”

“There's a war out there, old friend. A world war. And it's not about who's got the most bullets. It's about who controls the information. What we see and hear, how we work, what we think... it's all about the information!”

PC or TV in the room isn't a route I particularly want to go down to be honest, Out of interest how are you getting the music out of your PC Kevin? Is it USB into a DAC?

Chrips Jings, there was me thinking I was thick because I couldn't find a way to do just this and assumed I needed to do it via Bluetooth... assumed there was an easy route that I was too dense to work out! Not convenient in the slightest by the look of it unless you go down the Alexa/Sonos route then?

I bought a mac mini 2014 for £120 and I use Apple Music with Bit Perfect app. for my media. HDMI from the Mac Mini into my Marantz NR1403 AV Receiver and Falcon Acoustic Q7 Mini Monitors.

I use my iPhone or iPad with Home Sharing to select and play media. Works a treat and sounds great. I have 220GB of CD rips @16/44 and a selection
of HD Albums @24/192. The Bit Perfect app. takes control of the Apple Midi Settings so you don't have to change it manually when playing differing formats.

It's not a bad little computer either.

No, I am actually using USB, into a Digital interface, then into my DAC.
I used to use an Asus Essence STX II sound card, with a direct RCA feed to my pre-amp. It was not too shabby, but the new set up is slightly better.
