    Default Still here!

    Hey all,

Just a little note to say I'm still here but have been lurking for a while as I haven't had the time or energy for much forum stuff. Had to deal with some family bereavements and the subsequent followup for most of the last 6 months and that has meant taking a bit of a break from things.

Now life is back to some semblance of normality (important disclaimer *excludes all reference to the current state of this country) :-)

In the meantime, I have not stopped listening to good music and have a backlog of food and whisky to catch up on!

Oh my god! There's nothing wrong with the bidet is there?

“Nothing discloses real character like the use of power. It is easy for the weak to be gentle. Most people can bear adversity. But if you wish to know what a man really is, give him power. This is the supreme test. It is the glory of Lincoln that, having almost absolute power, he never abused it, except on the side of mercy".

“You see these dictators on their pedestals, surrounded by the bayonets of their soldiers and the truncheons of their police ... yet in their hearts there is unspoken fear. They are afraid of words and thoughts: words spoken abroad, thoughts stirring at home -- all the more powerful because forbidden -- terrify them. A little mouse of thought appears in the room, and even the mightiest potentates are thrown into panic.”

"You don't have free will. You have the appearance of free will.”

“There's a war out there, old friend. A world war. And it's not about who's got the most bullets. It's about who controls the information. What we see and hear, how we work, what we think... it's all about the information!”

Yes, I too had noted your absence Tony, but like others here who have not posted for a while, I assumed you were just keeping your head down - or maybe were spending more time stargazing.

Sorry to hear of your family bereavement; my condolences, but good to hear you are back with us again.

    Take care

I'd be lying if I said I hadn't done any stargazing, as that's the thing that has kept me sane for the past 18 months! :-) I've given myself some new kit as a 60th birthday present to myself. Back into proper imaging with a fully automated mount and a choice of scopes.
Will be posting some of the latest crop at some point soon.

Certainly haven't stopped cooking either, will have to do a continuous 'dump' (inappropriate phrase) of my recent endeavours! :-)

Hi Tony, hope you have a better time this year.
It is impossible for anything digital to sound analogue, because it isn't analogue!
