    the driver is 1.11.0.0 from 2010 but I had to get that from device manager...
    I don't think I mentioned anything about the Start menu. The hidden icons are behind the up arrow^ on the lower right, and if my DAC is connected and is using Thesycon's driver, it shows here... but then I'm on 1.61.0. If your player is on Windows 7 rather than 8, perhaps you don't need to bother about it.

    I can see a tusb audio control pannel but think that's it. I'm totally blind so I may be missing something here.
    I've had a very interesting time messing with foobar's settings. Any harshness that I was hearing before seems to be banished by the use of a dynamic range plugin... this is all black magic to me to be honest!

    The more I listen to this and mess with foobar's settings the nicer it is. i wonder how hard it would be to beat it 10 years later, though
