Default FS: An Audio technical AT1005 mk2 tonearm in very good condition.

For sale: An Audio technical AT1005 mk2 tonearm in very good condition.
Heavy mass tonearm so works well with low compliance cartridges.

Complete with headshell, counterbalance weight, armrest, single bias weight and AT Branded tonearm cable.

Only comes with the smaller bias weight (which is enough for upto 3g tracking anyway).
    Replacement twin weights readily available.

Genuine sale, as this came with an idler Turntable that was local to me and which a friend wanted shipping off to Spain.

I’m also using an upgraded AT1005 Mk2 on a Lenco, and so can help with cartridge matching if you want (guessing you don’t need that though).

Apologies if the photo’s are poor - ish.
Took them over the weekend when it was dark and snowing outside!
If you'd like some more photo's just drop me a pm.

    For sale at:
Arm with Headshell £260 incl postage
    Tonearm cable £20 incl postage.

    Thank you.

    Hi Keith,

I am seriously interested in this, when you say heavy mass do you know what it's effective mass is? I am looking for an arm to carry my Koetsu Urushi Vermillion cartridge which is low compliance even though it is not that heavy at around 9g, do you think it would work?
Please forgive the dummy question but I only mention it because I have no idea, but is it complete?

    Regards,

    Brook.

Thanks Mike, looks like it is a bit too heavy sadly.

I’d have thought an arm with a 20 gram effective mass would be about right for a low compliance Koetsu?

With a dynamic compliance of 5 .10-6 cm/dyne, and a cartridge mass of 9g (https://www.vinylengine.com/cartridg...s=&prlo=&prhi=), the Koetsu Urushi Vermillion ought to work well in the arm; the combination having a calculated low frequency resonance of 13.2Hz.

I use a Koetsu Black Goldline in my Fidelity Research FR64fx with the same 20g mass and its sounds great, I think the figures would be close to the Vermillion so as Barry says it would work just fine

Ah okay seems I was wrong in that case, I thought I needed somewhere around 15g eff mass as although the Vermillion is low compliance it isn't very heavy. Happy to be corrected though so thanks for that.

    Stone cold bargain
    I also have one.
This is a drop in for Rega as it is the same geometry but in a different league for sound quality
Good luck with sale, but someone should snap this up.
