Have some cash available and looking to update vintage system and starting with the amp.

Have the option to get either a SONY TA 550es or a ROTEL RA 1570.

Never heard any of these specific units but have had a few early 70s Sony receivers which I liked the sound of.

    Any recommendations

    Thanks

Both are very good SS amps, I would personally plump for the Sony, considered a giant killer by some, but the Rotel is also highly regarded.

Just seen Phil's post and he has more knowledge on these than me so jump for that Rotel.
Listening is the act of aural discrimination and dissemination of sound, and accepting you get it wrong sometimes.

Just realised it's the 770es not the 550, don't know if that changes anything
