    Default New 201MacBook Pro

    Anyone tried yet? Just arrived for work:

    Onboard speaker system is ridiculous, hard to believe what is coming out of the laptop in comparison to old PC. Very impressed. Not gonna beat my hifi but quite nice for listening in office if you get fed up with headphones / watching gig vids.

    Now the bonus, it has an inbuilt headphone amp / DAC that has no worries powering my AKG k701’s. Not quite as immersive as the upgraded Caiman but scarily close. Better than the Audioquest and other dongle style products. My fave amp is still the Heed but for everyday use this is hard to beat.

    Looks like someone at Apple actually likes Audio quality!
    MacBook / Cd6000ki > Beresford SEG + Dorado / Dragonfly Red > Bel Canto / MF X-A1 > Neat Iota / Tannoy R3...

    Yeah, 2021 pro, got for work. After the AirPods max and the way they manage Bluetooth I’d pretty much given up on Apple. This is totally unexpected for something I’ve not really read anything in detail about. All from standard headphone jack on the side.

    I still use a 2012 MacBook Pro. Good enough for my ancient ears.Do you still have the Audio MIDI s/w setup in the latest O/S? Should be in the <Other> section in the icons listing.
