Default Valve/Tube amp repairers / modifiers (UK)?

    Hi all...

The "tinkerer's urge" is biting... Can anyone point me to reliable, quality repairers / maintainers to undertake a bit of upgrading work on a valve/tube amp (Willsenton R8)?

So far, I've found "Essex Amp Repairs" (Witham, Essex) but it would be nice to have a couple of other options in case that doesn't work out - will consider travelling, say, 100 miles range from Essex.

For info, the work being considered is to upgrade some of the caps (Miflex or Mundorf: 0.22uF; 600-630VDC; +/- 5%). In anticipation of the suggestion, I won't be able to do the work myself.

Try David Coe (posting here as AD Audio). This type of upgrade is right up his street.

I've read various reviews on the Willsenton R8. Highly regarded.

Second That David Coe is your man. Had a bad experience with a so call t°p repair man in Guilford...destroyed my speakers sending DC through them...I wanted to put DC through him but it wasn't worth it...my hifi isn't the violent kind....
