If it's anything like Big Mac burgers, the packaging probably tastes better than the contents and is likely to be more nutritious!

Damn, I didn't think to try the box, and it's in the bin now. I did finish the mince pie, but with a scowl on my face. Will go back to Waitrose's Heston pies like last year. They were pretty good, if a bit weird tasting.

+1...to be a liar, you have to be an extremely good liar...There is so much doom and gloom these days. Do people really want to hear awful truths?

Which is worse: the "awful truth", or the lies, mendacity and obfuscation offered by politicians?

I don't advocate lying, and as was said earlier in the thread many politicians, scientists, religious leaders etc all pedal either lies or their version of the truth because in reality most people don't really want truth unless it pleases them to hear it.

The title of this album always amused me...

It is possible that many people only want to hear something beautiful, true or otherwise.
    Best Wishes

The full effect of 'Operation Mincemeat' is not known for sure, but Sicily was liberated more quickly than anticipated, as troops were sent to Greece and Sardinia instead of Sicily, and losses were thus lower than predicted. It was of course a lie, but probably saved thousands of lives.
