    I hope they didn't put sand in the voice coils like the slave labourers did to German engines in WW2.

    Mind you JPW were just as bad using convicts to make their cabinets

    When I still lived in Russia, one of my mates had speakers made by this factory. One day he decided to "upgrade" them (replace wiring, upgrade crossovers, that kind of thing) and asked me to help him. When we opened them up, there was half a brick in one of the speakers and a letter from a prisoner wrapped around it ("whoever finds this, please let my mother know that I'm OK"). It was ~15 years after the speakers were made, so the guy had probably already served his sentence by then.
