I've got a pair of these I bought in 1995, partnered (then) by Arcam Alpha 9 and 9P bi-amped.

Long story short, I got into DIY audio early 2000's and the Ruarks were retired to the spare room and not used again until....

This year. I got back into DIY again and "upgraded" a Slim Devices Transporter and then built a Douglas Self "Tri-modal" amplifier from scratch using pcbs ordered direct from Douglas.

Did I say "long story short"? lol

Anyway, to the point, I am using the Ruarks with the Trimodal amp and these speakers are fab despite being over 25 years old! I was so impressed. They do sound far better now than they ever did with the Arcams.

Well I paid £750 in 1996 so they weren't dirt cheap but they did sound way better than the competition that I auditioned at the time.
