Default Apple Music - Now losslesss and Hires - 3 Months free trial available.

    As above:

    For myself,
As a Tidal/Qobuz subscriber I never really paid much attention to Apple Music?
Getting more into the Apple Ecosystem nowadays, IPads and now an Apple TV 4K is on the way.

My PS5 doesn’t do Dolby Vision, and I miss it on my OLED TV,
so with Apple Music going lossless, decided to take a punt on an Apple TV, stream lossless and hires to my Dac via the Oppo HDMI input.

Curious to see how it performs against the PS5 for Music too, especially with lossless.
3 Months free trial of Apple Music, thought I’d give it a punt.

PS5 doesn’t output lossless from Apple Music over HDMI, but the Apple TV DOES.

    New gadget,
    what’s not to enjoy.

Apple Music/ YouTube via AppleTV, fed to Dac via Oppo HDMI input/i2s output to Dac.

The trouble is you're stuck with Apple's Music Player. As a big Mac fan this was a deal-breaker for me as I get improved SQ with an Innuos Zen Mini Mk3 compered to my Mac Mini. However, a Mac Mini with an Innuos Phoenix USB reclocker is absolutely awesome so would get round that problem. Personally tho, I prefer the Qobuz range and interface overall

    I hear you,

As a Roon guy with integrated Tidal and Qobuz you get kinda spoiled on the interface front.
shame there’s no way to remote control it from Apple Music app on IPad, having to add albums, playlists etc on the Pad, then pick it up on the TV is a bit of a pain.

sounds great in my setup have to say, so worth the effort.
