    Default FS Wharfedale Pacific pi-10

I bought these a while back for £100
As i had never heard wharfedale non budget designs, have heard plenty of their budget diamond models.
Was surprised by the improvement over the diamonds.
I believe these were £399 when new sometime ago now and were out at the same time as the diamonds 8.1.
Just bought IAG bought the brand.
I think the past owner leasing out the name to allow tv and sound bars had cheapen the name
    Meaning their speakers suffered.
They have some weight to them.
The gold plated binding posts work well.
I have had speakers in the post that did not hold banana plugs great but these ones are great.
They remind me of the binding posts on my opera super Pavarotti, not the tray but the binding post itself.
The tweeter pod does move and the mid/bass is 6 5"
Reviews from fellow users to give you an idea of what to expect sound wise but of course just a rough idea
    http://www.audioreview.com/product/s...ale/pi-10.html
    Spec's
    2-way configuration,
    bass reflex via rear-firing port,
kevlar cone midwoofer Wharfedale 1755H 170mm, rubber surround,

silk dome tweeter Wharfedale 0326H 25mm, time-aligned, swinging,

    120W@6Ω,
    55-20000Hz ±? dB,
    sens. 86 dB,
    mm 220x409x280, kg --,-.

I paid £100 plus postage so i am wanting
£55 plus delivery cost which i think is a fair price.
I have original the box with the packing inserts as well as manual.
Payment via paypal gift or bacs or if local collection is fine.

I remember going to demo a pair of these twinned with a Marantz amp with the class A button (PM7000?). I was blown away by how good it sounded but he wouldn't budge on price (about twice this asking IIRC) so I left it. Never forgot the sound though. GLWS.

    I agree mate.
The bass on them is something else.
    Bass though is not something
I need as i mostly enjoy
    Folk and chopin,debussy
    And audiobooks.
    I have replaced them
With a smaller pair of Castle speakers
I have always wanted to own
    A pair of castle speakers
    For over a decade so
Took the bite on a pair
And my place is to small
For two pairs as i already
    Have rega ela speakers
So selling the wharfedale at a loss

    I agree.
You know the only reason i
Am selling is because i have eldly
Neighbours and the bass goes low
    For such speakers.
    Not boomy. Just deep.
I bought them as my rega ela
Were ugly and i thought these look
Lovely and i thought being bookshelf
    Would not have deep bass
But i was wrong so now i have
    Some castle bookshelf that
Have rega ela style bass but
    Look way better.

If i lived in a detached house i would
    Keep them for sure.

If delivery is needed it would
Cost £12.60 via parcel force 48
    With tracking and insurance.
They would be sent in original boxes
    With the original packing materials

Boxed as well, total bargain then!

I'm pretty sure it's a real wood veneer on these upmarket models too.

I understand some won't like the name, in fact I was like that until I heard them. I went to buy the amp for the class A option and came away wanting the speakers but he wouldn't budge on the £200 price. No boxes either!
