Mole grips are useful in these situations..

I wouldn't play my records with that even if you could straighten it as it will likely still be a bit off and that will do damage.

    Dave's right.

Even straightened, the cantilever will have weakened areas that may cause unpredictable effects.
It is impossible for anything digital to sound analogue, because it isn't analogue!

Alternatively you could contact North West Analogue: https://www.northwestanalogue.com/ca...e-repairs.html

    Good luck with the repair
+1 for Dominic Harper at Northwest Analogue. He has repaired/rebuilt several cartridges for me. Very happy with his work. Nice Chap, good comms and swift turnaround (unlike ESC).

And please sort the mounting hardware out when you re-install it. Those different screws are firing off my CDO!

No doubt chosen for sound quality reasons.

Another vote for ESCo. Speak to Wyndham on the phone. I've had a couple of 103 carts rebuilt with their sapphire cantilever and paratrace - takes this to a whole new level. You can also specify aluminium or boron cantilevers if you wish.

I think a pair of pliers may be a case of sledgehammer to crack a nut... Something a little more refined may be needed.!

++ for ESCO, I've also had several carts re-tipped by them over the last year or so, including 2 Denons for the sapphire/paratrace treatment. Sound great and compare favourably with some much more expensive carts I have. Comms are much better now (Julia) and turnaround times and prices v reasonable.
