funnily enough my firebottle amps were rather good , made by a rather competent engineer!!

Anyways, Is there anyone here using Odyssey amps. I am considering a Stratos power amp. The only thing putting me off is that they a factory direct. There isn't a UK distributor or stockist. They seem to be a lot of amp for the money.

5 things would put me off
    1] shipping costs
2] sending it back if it needs repair under warrenty
3] having to pay VAT on top
4] resale value will be very poor offsetting any savings
5 ] why buy something unknown when so many decent amps in UK such as colin wonfer and joe henry amps etc etc

Joe who? never heard of him. However, thank you for pointing out all the negatives about the Odyssey. How did it sound to you? What was the build quality like? How old was the one you heard? Was it in good working order?

Not sure what provoked that response from you, Alan has responded to my post, and i am sure he understood where i was coming from, nothing i said there undermined Alans capabilities as an engineer...
