I once ran down the stairs at Reading Railway Station to catch the connect to Bath. 1 minute flat to go.

I ended up flat on my face. Some idiot had left a West Ham United kitbag on the platform.

Anyhoo, this delightful gent quickly picked me up and chucked me onto the Train.

It was only afterwards, as my senses returned, I realized it was Geoff Hurst.

Anyway... Onto tonight's game, and in terms of a prediction, I must've changed my mind about 20 times throughout the day, but I've settled on a narrow England win, within normal time, something like a 1-0 or 2-1.

*However*, I would not at all be surprised if Denmark won, as one thing's for sure, they'll make it very difficult indeed tonight for England and want to do it for their teammate Christian.

They're also the type of team, very physical who play a high press and make defences work, like to shoot on sight, and who are dangerous with corners and free kicks, who could make it difficult for this England side.

Personally though, I hope England win, so we (as in Italy) can pump you royally in the final, and send you 'coming home' this time without even so much as a carrier bag full of duty free gifts!

Lol... Great minds. I was just saying the same thing to Del! Could you imagine that happening if it had been Wales in this position, or by some miracle, Scotland?

There'd be half an hour build up, if you were lucky, during which they'd STILL find some excuse for mentioning England!!

That's a good out. If you get beat you were not firing on all cylinders, not that you got beat by a better side.

I'm not saying that won't happen, but why would a team who so far have lost no more than one goal in a game suddenly lose three? Also, Belgium, the No1 seeded team in the world only beat Denmark 2-1 in the group stage, a team arguably better than England.

I mean, despite all your super-talented players, did you even succeed in 'outclassing' Scotland?

Possibly, but I think when you're a team like Italy and in the final of a major tournament, you'll be confident enough of beating anyone/won't be unduly worried who you'll face, and might actually fancy the opportunity of beating England, which would attract more kudos, than doing the same to Denmark.
