I presume you'll be getting your air cooler out tonight then, Geoff, and if not then *when* will you be using it - when it hits 40C?

“Nothing discloses real character like the use of power. It is easy for the weak to be gentle. Most people can bear adversity. But if you wish to know what a man really is, give him power. This is the supreme test. It is the glory of Lincoln that, having almost absolute power, he never abused it, except on the side of mercy".

“You see these dictators on their pedestals, surrounded by the bayonets of their soldiers and the truncheons of their police ... yet in their hearts there is unspoken fear. They are afraid of words and thoughts: words spoken abroad, thoughts stirring at home -- all the more powerful because forbidden -- terrify them. A little mouse of thought appears in the room, and even the mightiest potentates are thrown into panic.”

Any temp is fine for me, it's humidity which I can't take. It's a dry day today though. Super nice.

Lol - I agree about humidity, bit 30C (in any conditions) is just too warm for me. 5C less, and I'm happy, in the shade!

I may give it a whirl later Marco. Temperature is 30C at the moment, but not too uncomfortable yet. It's breezy and I think that's keeping humidity down.

It's the humidity that's the thing. Then there's no relief even in the shade.

Only 24C here and it's very hazy.

A lot cooler today, high of 17C is predicted and some drizzle too.

Tomorrow warm and sunny, rest of the week unspectacular. Although thunderstorms predicted from Wednesday on so something to look forward to at least.
