Default Fiddling and Fettling Pays Dividends

I spent a lot of time setting up, yesterday, and what a difference it can make. The particular difference was getting the VTA absolutely right.

TTS8000, Phonomac AT1010, Audio Technica Art-1, Denon PMA850, Yamaha NS1000 and the utterly wonderful Curtis Mayfield, on original German pressing; my favourite of his and essential, in my view.

Those Yammies look tremendous btw. Always wanted some but not going to happen now.

I think they're wonderful. My room is not large but because their bass is fast and nuanced, rather than immensely deep, they work superbly. Of course, their mids are something else and they are, definitively, my final speaker.

    Lovely system.

However you really do need the matching Denon tuner with the VU meters!

Thank you, Adam. They do look lovely but I just don't think I would use it, despite how good they're supposed to be.
