newbie to forum, old hand at Hi-Fi

Joined up as was looking to move from expensive belt driven turntable to a Technics SL1210GR to make like easier

Musical tastes, modern Jazz, jazz funk, RnB, Soul

Bought my first HiFi in 1978, a Technics SL1300 with an Akai Amplifier and Leak Speakers (total garbage)
progressed to Naim amplification and then a huge Technics power amplifier and a pair of JVC Zero 9 speakers.
Have been more sensible since then with a whole heap of HiFi equipment, but current system is almost perfect for me.

What exactly is your current system? Admire your tastes in music, but by "RnB", do you mean 'Rhythm and Blues' (of the '60s), or the later and current genre?
