well who the bloody hell is Michael Kiwanuka for a start? Is it 'world music'? I can't be doing with world music. I prefer to stick to music I've been culturally indoctrinated to like.

Never heard of 'Weyes Blood' - is that a bloke's name or a band? LCD Soundsystem, Thundercat, Interpol, Bon Iver, Burial, The XX, Animal Collective, Sigur Ross, The Congos, Slint, My Morning Jacket, Isis, Flying Lotus, Earthheater Phoenix. Never heard of any of them.
    Current Lash Up:

    TEAC VRDS 701T > Sony TAE1000ESD > Krell KSA50S > JM Labs Focal Electra 926.

If everyone liked the same records, the record shops would be really shit.
I liked that Massive Attack album when it came out but it got played too much and really there's not a lot to it musically, so just got bored with it. And the follow up was more of the same, only not as good.

'Indie' as term that actually meant anything died out more than 20 years ago.

Just for your and Grant’s info, he is pretty well known, and has won several awards, I would classify his work as a mix of soul(traditional) and R&B(traditional). I would initially have a listen to the album Love and Hate, the follow up just called by his name is good, but not so good on vinyl(odd mix). He is a highly respected musician and song writer.
Listening is the act of aural discrimination and dissemination of sound, and accepting you get it wrong sometimes.

I agree about the Mezzanine album, I still quite like it, but it has been done to death. Anyway, imo they peaked at the start with "Blue Lines" then slowly declined in an up and down kind of way.
I just dropped in, to see what condition my condition was in

T/T: Inspire Monarch, X200 tonearm, Ortofon Quintet Blue. Phono: Project Tube Box CD: Marantz CD6006 (UK Edition); Amp: Musical Fidelity A5 Integrated.

Forget the past, it's gone. And don't worry about the future, it doesn't exist. There is only NOW.

I've got 32 of the RS list but have heard more. That feels about right - if I owned a higher percentage then I'd be concerned that I was with the crowd.
