Sorry, but she has no idea what she's talking about. If she really was "all about the bass; no treble" then you wouldn't hear her voice. Ridiculous. She clearly hasn't thought this through.

And whilst I'm on the subject, rappers are always banging on about turning up the bass and treble. What do they have against midrange?

Yeah, that's cool for some rocky stuff... I'll get to that later. But if I played that track in the Brabster [loudly], I'd be done for speeding in seconds!

You obviously don't dig rap or R&B. Shame.. I don't listen to much of it at home, but in the car, on a really good stereo, it has a totally different vibe

You'll probably hate this too then, but I think she has an amazing voice:

And, vocally, this is just stunning, from Radio 1's Live Lounge:

Utterly spine tingling, if you have any soul in you....

Never been keen on rap, like some of the more melodious r&b, that girl has a good voice.

Like most of Gorgon City’s output.

Right, I'm gonna have to don my pedant hat for a minute:

The Meghan Trainor song isn't literally about bass and treble, it is about her being a chunky lass and ok with it Answering your other question, rappers (or their followers) don't really like their music very much, and when they play it they aren't really listening - it's there purely to get attention. When out in their cars, bass frequencies can be heard quarter of a mile away, not so much with the midrange.

One of Anita's sons had a car with bin lid-size speakers in the back, and you could hear the hip-hop cack long before he arrived home. Then he'd be out of the car and into his room to watch some reality TV shite or The Simpsons. He never played anything in the house ever. We bought him a mini system one Christmas, and it's still on top of his wardrobe, unopened.

I have hopes he will grow up eventually, then he can get a nice girlfriend and move out
I just dropped in, to see what condition my condition was in

T/T: Inspire Monarch, X200 tonearm, Ortofon Quintet Blue. Phono: Project Tube Box CD: Marantz CD6006 (UK Edition); Amp: Musical Fidelity A5 Integrated.
Speakers: Zu Omen Def, REL T9i subwoofer. Cables: Atlas Equator interconnects, Atlas Hyper 3.0 speaker cables

    T'other system:
Echo Dot, Amptastic Mini One,Arcam A75 integrated, Celestion 5's, BK XLS-200 DF

    A/V:
LG 55" OLED, Panasonic Blu Ray, Sony a/v amp, MA Radius speakers, REL Storm sub

Forget the past, it's gone. And don't worry about the future, it doesn't exist. There is only NOW.

Yes, I know! A friend of mine refers to it as “the song from the whiny fat lass going on about the size of her arse”

Listening is the act of aural discrimination and dissemination of sound, and accepting you get it wrong sometimes.

Analog Inputs: Pro-Ject Signature 10 TT & arm, Benz Micro LP-S, Michel Cusis MC, Goldring 2500 and Ortofon Rondo Blue cartridges, Hitachi FT5500 mk2 Tuner

Digital:- Marantz SA-KI Pearl CD player, RaspberryPi/HifiBerry Digi+ Pro, Buffalo NAS Drive

Amplification:- AudioValve Sunilda phono stage, Krell KSP-7B pre-amp, Krell KSA-80 power amp

Output: Wilson Benesch Vector speakers, KLH Ultimate One Headphones

Cables: Tellurium Q Ultra Black II RCA & Chord Epic 2 RCA, various speaker leads, & links

I think I am nearing audio nirvana, but don’t tell anyone.
