    Cool Speaker placement and bi-wiring.

Just watched some GR Research videos on YouTube re speaker placement and bi wiring.

Two easy tweaks to try. Firstly moved my speakers about 20 cm further out from the back wall with the front baffles now just over 100cm from the wall and 50 cm from sidewalls. I already thought they were quite far out but that extra 20cm has made an appreciable difference. A more panoramic sound with added depth and height.

Next, I reverted back to single wiring with good quality cable connecting the two sets of terminals. Initial impression was a slight improvement in sound quality, certainly no deterioration.

GR Research explains why both tweaks are worth trying.

Moral is to try moving your speakers about - they may be better than you think. Secondly, don’t assume bi wiring is better. Try before you bi!

    Cheers

also think of your tweeters as narrow torch beams ...these need to intersect close to your listening position.
