Just been watching some catch up TV from last night, on a channel outside of the 'usual suspects', and guess what was emblazoned across the bottom of the screen in big bold letters, throughout the duration of the programme:

"Please tune to the BBC News for a breaking news story."

...subsequently shrinking the size of the picture to a fraction of what it should have been!!

How it that in any way justified? It's unadulterated brainwashing.

You've half-answered your own question. Spamming isn't permitted, in any shape or form. Plastering near-identical messages all over the forum is tantamount to what trolls/spammers do, hence why it was removed.

However, it's a different thing when you're following a regular series, and which you expect to be on at a certain day and time, being unceremoniously cancelled because someone else has decided you should be watching something else that they've decided is 'more important'!

Everyone should have the FREE choice to watch what THEY want, based on the choice that's available on the usual TV schedule, and not have it dictated to them by someone else, regardless of the arguable quality or diversity of that choice. That's my point.

Yup, no excuse for that either, Adam. Just because I'm a footy fan, doesn't mean that I'm going to be guilty of double standards.

Trust me, I feel EXACTLY the same when England are playing an international friendly game against some nondescript team, which is of ZERO interest to me, but which the BBC and/or ITV have regardless deemed to be of great interest to the whole of the UK, and rather 'thoughtfully' rearranged the TV schedule accordingly!

There needs to be much less (often ill-considered) 'presumptions' made by the programme planners for what the majority of viewers want to watch, and instead far more consideration and thought put into what said majority *actually do* want to watch, plus more fairness applied when catering for the rest!
