More likely a pair of Del's bloomers - which she stated size 8 on the order, but when they arrive (eventually) they are size 8' wide

Not sure you have thought through this remote castle idea properly, so allow me to paint a picture:

I know you'd be happy to be as far away from the "great unwashed" as possible, but from what you say Del is more of a social animal. So after the local handyman Mr. Mackenzie (who also runs the post office) has repurposed one of the portacabins (painted it pink) so Del can have her dressing room again, she may find her usual mates are reluctant to make the 600 mile trip. So she is forced to model her new online purchases for Mrs. Mackenzie, 2 goats, and a half dead seal that got washed up on the beach. I doubt any of them have a taste for prosecco, although I'm sure the goats will have a good old go at your canapes. Goats will eat just about anything...

The only good outcome I can see is if the seal makes a recovery

The point being Grant that Del likes to go in the shops herself, which won't be possible when living in the arse end of nowhere. And online sellers have been known to get your order wrong. Our Morrisons delivery has no problem substituting a box of Jaffa Cakes with a tube of Colgate toothpaste. And have you seen the shops up there? Basically you get a post office that sells cornflakes, fishing lures and not much else

Tee-hee... Actually you paint a rather quaint picture! Only one error, in that if we ever moved to such a property, it wouldn't be completely in the middle of nowhere, it would likely be on the mainland and near a decent town, for reasons outlined. However, if the property was big enough, Del's friends could move in, so no need for travelling!

More seriously though, if you make a move like that you'd have to alter your lifestyle accordingly and also your priorities, so perhaps less socialising.

However, I know for a fact that some of Del's closest friends, who at the promise of a good party (and we certainly know how to throw those), including some 'hot-tub frolics', wouldn't bat an eyelid at, say, flying up to Inverness and us arranging for them to be collected in a limo - all part of the party experience (with Prosecco on board), and staying for the weekend, or longer during the holidays!

As they say, where there's a will, there's a way..

Oh, and goats, being an Italian delicacy, would be spit-roasted or used to make stew. I may even invest in some tweeds and go hunting for grouse...

Tweeds...grouse shooting... probably a fair indication of the lifestyle you're aspiring to - perhaps you could invite over your new friends at neighbouring Balmoral Castle I would venture to suggest that your dislike of that bunch is really just envy

The idea of Del moving her mates in is to be applauded though - does she do a lot of work for homeless charities?

But the bit about spit roasting a goat: well I've heard you royal types are kinky buggers, but I wouldn't risk that - as I said before, goats will eat just about anything

Lol... Of course the tweeds thing was tongue-in-cheek, but hunting and shooting is very much an Italian thing, and something that traditionally our family has indulged in, not only in Italy, but here in the UK.

As a kid, I used to hunt rabbits with my dad at the local farm, and we had shotguns for that very purpose, and the kill was brought home for my mum to skin and cook (yes rabbit is a commonly eaten meat in Italy - we don't keep them as pets), so if I moved up to the highlands I would almost certainly rekindle my interest in the sport and hunt something more interesting and indigenous to the surroundings.

However, NOT whilst looking like a hooray henry!

The idea of Del moving her mates in is to be applauded though - does she do a lot of work for homeless charities?
Haha - well actually she does, through the church (we both do) and support the local homeless community accordingly, but Del's friends come from a rather different background, although unlike her, none to my knowledge are real princesses!

But the bit about spit roasting a goat: well I've heard you royal types are kinky buggers, but I wouldn't risk that - as I said before, goats will eat just about anything
Nah, not the ones roaming the hills wild we'd be eating (as a stew)... Here's a nice recipe for you and a bit of background about the eating of goat kid (actually by an Australian, but the culture, as detailed, is Italian): https://allthingssicilianandmore.com...goat-kid-stew/

How it looks when served: https://www.tripadvisor.com/Location...o_Abruzzo.html

It's super-succulent, tastier than lamb, and makes a lovely rich gravy... Great served with a nice bottle of Barolo or Brunello di Montalcino!

And of course, curried goat is loved by Jamaicans!
