Lol - and you'll be made very welcome. UK-wise, it's a great place to live (certainly the north, well away from the overpopulated cities in the south), and being a 'happy medium', in terms of in the middle of the north/south divide.

Decent climate, not to cold or warm, not too much rain (certainly in Wrexham), and not overly commercialised or crowded, such are many parts of England, and the people are warm and friendly

As we can see London get the most, then Scotland, then the South East, then Wales. The idea that either Scotland or Wales gets a raw deal is clearly incorrect. It's the East Midlands that's getting screwed.

Why do you think in American movies they subtitle it with Moscow, Russia or London England at the bottom of the screen to show where the scene is.

Over here we just say Moscow cos we know where it is lol.

Plots in American movies are written in such a way as to try and explain the scene because they know the average American viewer is too stupid to work it out for themselves.

Just need to compare an American crime drama to a European one

You have to remember that most Americans have never left their own State , unless they have been in the Forces and don’t own a passport.

Yes I know, Robin, but that's still really no excuse for such ignorance. Many of us are familiar with the geography of America, or other countries around the world, without having been there. It's called having some basic general knowledge.

In any case, that wasn't my point. One of the other reasons why some Americans have an ignorance of UK geography is because largely all they ever hear about is England or London, as if nowhere else in the UK exists or matters!
