Default For Sale - Ruark Crusader II in Oak

For sale - Ruark Crusader II in Oak finish.

I've been after a pair of these for years having heard them many times at a frineds house and finally found a good pair (or as good as I have found over the years of looking!) They just don't fit my room/other systems now but glad I had a chance to have an extended test of these.

They're not quite up to my Apogee Caliper Sigs or NS1000M/Rel Subs for my main system and I've been using them in a 8ft x 8ft square study for work but realistically they're just not suited to such a small room and need more room to breath.

    Specifications: -
    Specifications Ruark Crusader II
System Type: Bass reflex, 3 way
    Drive units:
Bass: 180 mm precision cast magnesium chassis, high flux magnet assembly, high temp 40 mm Kapton voice coil.
Mid-range: 75 mm treated fabric dome, vented center pole. Aluminium voice coil.
    Tweeter: 25mm trated silk dome.
    Frequency Response: 40 Hz - 20 khz ±3 dB
    Sensibility: 88dB / 1Watt
Crossover Frequency: 500 Hz; 4 kHz (Precision audio grade components a 15 elements)
    Nominal Impedance: 8 ohms
    Recommended amplifier power: 25 - 100W
Cabinet: Floor standing ACD, Critically damped MDF double layer construction
Colour Finishes: Veneers in; natural Cherry, Natural Oak, Walnut, Rosewood and Black
Dimensions (HxWxD): 900 x 235 x 320 mm Weight: 30 Kgs each Made in UK

Strong points: - big, wide & accurate soundstage and glorious mid, deep controlled bass (no hint of boom or resonance). Very room friendly and seem to appeal to the OH on the looks front!
Bad points (If I'm being critical): - limited bass volume/SPL compared to NS1000M & REL subs (hardly surprising and I do like to listen loud when I have the chance!). Treble is not up to Apogee or high-end scanspeak tweeters I've now become accustomed to.

Condition: - I'd describe these as very good for age, I've pictured any imperfections I can find. 1) both mids have evidence of minor cone dimples but doesn't effect the sound and they are very prone to this, most I've seen are far worse. 2) 1 small piece of veneer is damaged. 3) minor marking on the rear black corners as pictured 4) odd blueish marking on rear that haven't tried to get off and looks like suncream or something.

Otherwise very good as shown by pictures and the best I've seen for years.

I have the original Ruark shipping cartons if you want them but no internal packaging.

    I'd like £625 collected from Surrey/Hampshire border.

That needs to display at full size Jo and you also require a shot of the rear showing terminals. Ta.

Thanks, can see them now but wasn’t able in your sales thread.

I would love to see how these sound with my MF M2SI amp. Just need to sell my XTZ speakers first to fund a new purchase. If I can get that done soon would I be able to audition them at yours? Possibly even being the MF amp with me?

I’d planned on eBay if them soon but hopefully we can work something out. A demo is no problem.
