    I'm Duncan.

    Default Newbie ! ( sorry ).

    Hi and good evening.
I'm from Doncaster, and have been absorbed by the Hifi for at least 40 of my 54 years.
Started with a Teleton receiver my Father donated, and first purchase was a pair of Mission 737 Renaissance speakers.
Followed this with a Technics V7 amp, and an Aiwa ADF990 cassette deck.
This was the early eighties !
Moved on through various purchases as funds allowed, happy to discuss further, until I reached the point I am at now,
where the law of diminishing returns versus cost has bitten, along with other considerations.
Hope you are all well, and have a great weekend.
    Take care and stay safe.
    Duncan.

Listening is the act of aural discrimination and dissemination of sound, and accepting you get it wrong sometimes.

It is impossible for anything digital to sound analogue, because it isn't analogue!

    Welcome to AoS Duncan.

Mention of the Teleton brand brings back memories - my father had a Teleton amplifier in his system.

What are your tastes in music?

    Enjoy the Forum

Hi. Thank you for your kind replies.
My tastes are m.o.r really. The very late 70’s and the 80’s are where it was happening for me and although it’s not to everyone’s taste my roots are there. I do enjoy classical, and choirs. One of my favourite albums is of The Huddersfield Choral Society Hymm’s album. Powerful soaring stuff there.
My system atm is a Wadia 861 CD player, a Levinson 38s preamp, just sold my CJ premier 8A’s feeding my Dali Helicon 800’s. I have a bit of a home cinema set up too that uses Mirage M1 speakers as main speaker. A bit of a blast from the past those but lovely things all the same. Thanks for your interest. Stay safe, Duncan.
