Over the years I have assembled various classic components to form a system.
The Spendor BC1s are the oldest, followed by an LP12 with a Mission 774 arm.
Various amplifiers have passed through and I now have a modified & serviced Audiolab 8000A.
The original cartridge was an Entre MC, purchased in 1979. A fair few styli have been fitted by Expert Pickups over the years.

The system above has always sounded good, but not outstanding.

Recently a broken Denon 103 came into my possession, so I contacted Expert about a new cantilever and stylus.
For about £200 a new cantilever and Paratrace stylus were fitted.
After fitting and adjusting the Denon, a familiar record was played.
All the smoothness of the Entre was there with an added clarity and firmer bass.
I also think the imaging has improved.
The system sounds just right to my ears.

There was the added bonus of selling the Entre, as it still had a lot of life left in it.
The buyer was very pleased and so was I...
