Nice headphones these, one of my favourite "non high end" pairs. There was a mod to convert them to the more expensive HD595 - rumour was to save money having a single production line, they made them the same way and did something to make these sound worse and you could convert them back quite easily.

Yes that was one of the mods done to this pair, plus cut away the inner grill to allow them to 'breathe' better.
