FS Firebottle KIN line/phono stage preamplifier
Part of the Firebottle Towers clearout of unused kit.
This preamplifier was my daily driver for a long time but has now been superseded by alternative equipment.
Valve based preamplifier using innovative 'super linear' circuit design, distributed regulation and passive RIAA equalisation.
3 line level plus MM/MC switchable phono input. Remote control of volume and mute. Earth lift switch on rear.
Line level inputs: Gain 7dB, input impedance 100 Kohm.
Phono input: MM gain 39dB, input impedance 47 Kohm, MC gain 65dB, input impedance dependent on loading plugs fitted.
Mundorf ZN coupling capacitors and close tolerance polystyrene capacitors for the RIAA equalisation.
Choke filtered power supply plus current controlled heater supplies to give valve longevity.
The phono stage heaters are off unless the phono input is selected.
Fitted with 3 Telefunken PCC88 valves and a second passive output prior to the line stage.
Shown to the left is the MC/MM selector switch and the phono loading sockets.
Complete with a OneforAll remote control.
