    Hi baz,
The tenuto is used instead of a mat and sits on top of the original platter. I have one too and find it invaluable in lifting the performance a Garrard 401.

what price air partners and air scouts go for these days?

i won a bid for air partners many years ago on ebay, sadly i found out some minor issues with them when i went to collect so we agreed to terminate the purchase. they were about 5k euro.

never got over if i made a mistake or not....

    Wonderful system now btw
Imagine MY wife, when I told her I was thinking of getting Klipschorns (again! I had some for 17 years until moving to current , split-level house)
She's not at all keen about my current Opera Consonance horns, which are similar size to the Scouts

Yikes, if they were Air Partners 5k euro is an absolute bargain. Even in bad condition you are unlikely to find air partners for less than £15k. Kevin is selling a pair of Air Scouts with new crossovers for £15k at the moment but I didn't pay anywhere near that for mine.

The next thing I'll be doing is asking Kevin to make some new crossovers for mine.

I remember Dominic Baker reviewing the Tone Scouts for Hi-Fi World back when they came out, I think 1993 or 1994. Must still have that issue somewhere.

Always wanted to hear some, I'd guess they re-define 'effortless'.
    Current Lash Up:
